Drone To Aid Disaster Relief Operations In Chamba

Chamba, July 2, 2024 – To enhance disaster management in Chamba district, which is often challenged by severe weather conditions and limited accessibility, Bal Raksha Bharat has provided a drone capable of carrying up to 20 kg of supplies. The drone was officially handed over to the Chamba administration recently.

Equipped to transport essential supplies to remote areas affected by floods and landslides, the drone was handed over to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mukesh Repaswal.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Repaswal expressed gratitude to Bal Raksha Bharat and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, emphasizing the drone’s advanced capabilities. He noted that the drone would play a crucial role in monitoring, transporting, and supplying relief materials to inaccessible areas.

The DDMA procured the drone to address the challenge of delivering essential goods to distant areas during emergencies. Considering Chamba’s strategic geographical location, the drone was deployed and successfully launched in the district today.

The official launch took place at the historic Chaugan ground. Key officials present at the event included Chief Forest Officer Mr. Abhilash Damodaran, Additional Police Superintendent Shivani Mehla, Additional District Magistrate Mr. Amit Mehra, Chamba SDM Mr. Arun Sharma, Home Guard Commandant Mr. Vinod Dhiman, District Revenue Officer Mr. Jagdish Chand, Assistant Manager of Bal Raksha Bharat Mr. Navin Shukla, along with Swati Shahi and Mr. Bhupendra Kashyap.
