1 October, 2024- Granta Autonomy, a Drone business based in Vilnius, has secured a €1 million contract. This agreement is with the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense (MoD). Granta will supply its first-person-view (FPV) GA-10FPV-AI quadcopter Drone. The company will deliver the UAVs to the Lithuanian military. The company will also provide them to the Ukrainian armed forces. This is a component of a larger €8 million procurement agreement.
This program will supply Lithuania with around 2,300 Drones. The initiative will provide 5,000 Drones to Ukraine. They hope to begin delivery by the end of September. They will complete the deliveries by year-end.
Helping Ukraine And Growing Our Efforts
This crucial order marks a watershed moment for Granta Autonomy, according to Gediminas Guoba. He is the founder and CEO. “Our Drones have already demonstrated their value on Ukrainian battlefields. We are ramping up production to fulfill this new contract by the end of the year”.
Granta Autonomy’s Drones are currently being employed on the battle lines in Ukraine. The company strategies on expanding its operations further. Guoba noted that they are “pursuing various opportunities”. These opportunities are with the Lithuanian Government and other NATO partners.
GA-10FPV-AI: A Flexible Tool For Today’s Battles
The designers created the GA-10FPV-AI for various military applications. It features a quadcopter frame. It also has vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities. With a payload capacity of up to 3 kg, it is capable of carrying diverse equipment. The Drone operates on its own. It can function in challenging environments, such as radio silence or GNSS-denied areas. This allows it to adapt to various mission profiles.
The system includes a ground control station. It comes with FPV goggles, a controller, and a battery charger. There are also antennas and a track for external video display. It also offers options for video transmission frequencies. Additionally, it provides different camera types. This further enhances its versatility.
Fast Growth And Ongoing New Ideas
Former military engineers from Lithuania founded Granta Autonomy in 2015. Since then, the company has expanded. The company received €1 million in startup capital in July 2024. This funding has helped speed up the development of its UAVs. It has also supported related technologies.
