25 March, 2025- 3F Oil Palm Pvt Ltd has completed a large-scale drone survey in Ayyavaram Village, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. This pilot initiative marks a significant move toward integrating aerial technology to assist palm oil farmers across India.

Over three days, UAV mapped 800 plots belonging to 530 farmers, covering a vast area of approximately 1,150 hectares. Equipped with high-precision GPS technology, the drones were used to count trees, assess plant health, and estimate fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production.

Transforming Farming With Drone Surveys

By incorporating drone technology, 3F Oil Palm is enabling farmers to detect potential issues early, whether it be pest infestations or soil nutrient deficiencies. The ability to capture real-time data with accuracy allows for proactive decision-making, ultimately improving crop productivity.

“This initiative reflects our dedication to harnessing technology for smarter and more efficient farming. Following the success of this pilot project, we plan to extend drone surveys across India, covering 30,000 hectares, 14,000 farmers, and 21,000 plots—empowering farmers with advanced agricultural insights,” said Kilari Srinivas Rao, Head of Agriculture at 3F Oil Palm Pvt Ltd.

The company believes that aerial data collection will revolutionize traditional farming methods, leading to healthier plantations and increased yields for farmers.
